A Touch of Europe in Texas

2 Comments | Tags: , , , , , ,

Situated only minutes north of San Antonio, TX via Interstate 10 in the Texas Hill Country, the quaint town of Boerne (pronounced “Bernie”) was settled by German immigrants in the 1840s. Today this delightful small town still exudes turn-of-the-century European architecture with striking, verdant greenbelts and inviting picturesque gardens gracefully lining the Hauptstrausse (Main Street), which spans about six blocks through the center of town.

To whet your whistle, stop in one of their inviting area brewhauses, wineries or wine bars such as the Dodging Duck Brewhaus, Boerne Brewery or Singing Water Vineyards.
